Smart kids!

We've had a lot of big changes in the past few months! Violet started walking at the end of June (and running soon after!) She now can say about 75+ words and seems to be picking up a word or two every day. She has also learned how to READ the whole alphabet on her own (see attached video.) We passed an ATM sign in early October and she stopped and said, "A! T! M!) We very quickly learned that she knows all 26 letters. She can also count to 10 and knows all of her colors - I am just floored by all of this...at 18 months!

We also just celebrated Halloween - Roman was a skunk and Violet was Emma Wiggle - they both looked great!

Here are a few more pictures:

A BEAUTIFUL letter from Roman while I was away for work.

This last picture is a great segue into talking about Roman's reading and writing. In short - WHOA! Over the past 6 months or so, he has taken off like a speeding train and now he's unstoppable. He can read anything and I mean ANYTHING - the newspaper, newsletter from his teacher, complicated menu items, directions on a package - it doesn't matter what it is, he can read it. In fact, we have had to start watching what he is exposed to - he may have the reading level of a much older child, but he's still just 5 so we really need to watch out for him. He's also been writing more stories - the last was called, "The Magic Playground" - a story that takes place inside the thought bubble of a little boy. I am so proud of him!
